Smell

The nose is a very powerful organ, and plays a major role in our senses. Several years ago I did a bondage scene with a submissive, who was blindfolded throughout the scene. After the scene she told me that sheliked being able to smell me, even though she couldn't see me. This was pretty much the first time I realized how important smell is.

We've no doubt all experienced smelling a sweaty person, smelling a parfume or cologne that we really liked, etc. If we smell some scent a few times, we start to make associate in our minds. Those associations allow us to recall names, pictures, etc. when we next smell the same scent without seeing the person, object, etc.

When it comes to the body, there are various different scents available. The hair, which may smell sweaty, like a shampoo or conditioner, or a combination of those. Sweat in general, and especially under the arm pits. All the different smells in the crotch area, from sweat, excitement, precum, etc. And of course the feet :-)

I've met people who don't want to smell any of those bodily smells. They associate these scents with not being clean, and find that thought repulsing. I'm guessing/hoping that the scents of excitement are notincluded in this, as that could potentially complicate sex quite a bit. Yet, others love the sweaty - animalistic - scents, and find them to be an exciting addition to their sex lives. Personally, I prefer my partner not smelling sweaty when we start out, but don't mind at all if she gets smellythroughout the scene. When doing a rape scene, even when the rapee is blindfolded without seeing the rapist, and the rapist never speaks, the rapists` smell is usually sufficient to instantly give away his identity. This of course assumes that the rapist is known by the rapee. When the victim needs a solid confirmation in the rape scene that the rape is being performed by a certain person, smell tends to be the third easiest way to do this (after visual confirmation, and hearing the rapist talk). Smelling the person that she agreed to do the scene with usually allows the rapee to feel safe. It confirms that the rapist is the person with whom sie negotiated limits, and who sie can trust.

With this in mind, smell can be used as a tool when doing a rape scene. A lot of people love the idea of gang rape, yet fear the complexity and risks that doing such a scene brings. Both from the rapee side, who has to deal with strangers, health risks, and potentially feeling like a slut afterwards (which isn't necessarily bad). For the rapist it is finding partners that sie can trust, and doesn't have any issues with.Using smell to pretend more people are present than there really are is one way to avoid these problems. For example, the rapist could start by raping the victim without any scents applied. Then leave the room, and return after applying a strong aftershave, deoderant, or parfume, this way pretending to be two different people. Using this technique, 2 rapists can become 4 in the rapee's mind, quite a gang rape.

Although I have seen no scene reports on it, it should be possible to apply the scents to clothing instead of the person. This way the rapist can change identity by changing clothing - allowing for more than two identities. Likely the main problem with doing this is that other characteristics - such as the girth, way of touching, and way of fucking may give the identity away. As long as there's only two "persons" being portrayed, it doesn't take too much effort to hide those factors, but once it goes beyond that, the complexity seems to increase rapidly.

As mentioned above, the body has a lot of different scents that could give the rapists identity away. The smell of the shampoo used (or sweaty hair), the smell of the pubic area, the smell of sweat, etc. Using a heavy aftershave or parfume will mask out the bulk of what the rapee can smell. There are other techniques as well though.

On the more subtle end, one could simply switch to different products to mask out daily scents. Use a different shampoo, aftershave (or none), soap, and deoderant. Obviously if the rapee will get really close to certain body parts, this may prove non-effective. For example, making the rapee give a blowjob to someone sie's given it to before will pretty much give the identity away. But then, not only smell but also taste is a major give away in the pubic area. Using a flavored condom or a dental dam may help here.

Another technique of masking out scents is putting something with a heavy smell under the rapee's nose. For example, putting a leather or rubber hood over hir head, or rubbing something smelly (like a cream containing mint) under her nose. And of course, if the rapee is into breath control, pulling a plastic bag over hir head, and leaving it there losely will normally cover out all scents as well.

Also keep in mind the smell of breath, which can be masked out using as simple as a breath mint (a different kind, if you're already using them). Potentially eating something with garlic may work as well, especially if you want to make the victim uncomfortable using the smell.

When doing an abduction scene, not only the smell of the person can give the rapist away, but also the smell of the place the victim is taken too. If the abduction is performed by the victim's lover/dominant, then the victim will most likely also know the smells in hir house. And every place has some unique smells, whether it is from pets, flowers, or something else. These smells, too, can be masked out. For example by burning essence, lighting a scented candle, using an evaporator, etc.
